Fight Plan: Antonio Margarito

On Saturday night Antonio Margarito’s fight plan will be based on pressure, cutting off the ring, attacking the body and throwing 80-100 punches around.

Antonio must not let the faster man cut angles, throw fast combinations and get out, spin out or dip out. The Tijuana Tornado must apply tons of pressure, cut the ring off and batter Pacman to the body. Tony should also try and hit Pacquiao anywhere he can. The arms, shoulders, body or head, it doesn’t matter. Keep touching Manny to slow him down. Again, the biggest key to victory is pressure, pressure, pressure, pressure and that’s right u guessed it, PRESSURE!

Here is a detailed account of what the bout should look like:

The bell rings and Antonio comes out blazing. He comes forward and his first combination is 2 jabs, straight right hand to the head, left hook to the body, then muscle Manny into the ropes or corner and start ripping shots to the body. Other combo examples are as follows: 1) Counter Pacquiao’s jab with a left hook to the head, straight right to the body, left uppercut to the head and right hook to the head. 2) Feint the jab, left hook to the head, right uppercut to the head, left uppercut to the body, right hook to the head, left hook to the body, right hook to the body and then bully Pacman into the ropes and continue to pound his body. 3) Cut the ring off, catch Manny in the corner and start chopping him down like a tree. Left hook to the body, left uppercut to the head, right uppercut to the head, 2 left hooks to the body, right hook to the body and lastly a right uppercut to the head. 4) After Pacquiao throws a combination and dips to his right, immediately counter with a right uppercut to the head, left hook to the head, right uppercut to the body, push Manny into the corner and fire off 5 or 6 more body shots. 5) Dip head to the left, fire a left uppercut to the head, an overhand right , left hook to the body, right uppercut to the head, pivot left and finish the combination with 2 jabs. Then wait 1 second and fire 2 straight right’s to the head, followed by a left by a bolo punch (left hook to the body followed immediately by a left uppercut).
