Fight Plan: Noons vs. Diaz 2

How can KJ Noons beat the ultimate douche bag Nick Diaz again? Do the same exact thing he did last time. Keep the fight standing and drop bombs all over Diaz’s ugly mug.

Nick is a southpaw and tends to be wide open for a straight right hand and a left hook. In the last match KJ hurt the Strikeforce welterweight champion several times with right hands.

Diaz does put his hands together well and has much improved stand up. He throws punches in bunches and wears opponents down. But, I think Noons is a better boxer and kickboxer.

It’s very important for the challenger to keep his feet moving in the rematch. Nick is going to look for the takedown because he has a clear advantage on the ground.

Here is a detailed account of what the whole fight should look like.

KJ should come out circling to his left away from Diaz’s power hand, move in half steps and use quick feet. Noons should let Nick be the aggressor and catch him coming in and pick that ignorant SOB apart with fast combinations. The challenger needs to be patient and not throw more than 3 punches in a combination. He can’t give Diaz opportunities to take him down.

Here are some examples of combinations KJ Noons should throw: 1) Straight Right Hand, Left Hook to the Body 2) Jab, Cross, Back Leg Kick to Diaz’s Front Leg 3) Lead Left Kick to Nick’s Front Leg, Straight Right Hand 4) Jab, Straight Right Hand to the Body 5) Feint the Jab, Left Hook, Straight Right Hand to the Head

Not sure who will win, but would love to see KJ Noons whoop Nick Diaz’s ass! I can’t wait to watch the bout Saturday night.
